About

A soulful songstress with warm, rich vocals, Beth Yap has been singing and playing the bass for seven and four years respectively. Her solo project, bittymacbeth, has seen her record her debut album for release in April 2016. Her first single, Haters Gon’ Hate, charted at #4 on the Apple Music Top R&B/Soul songs and #6 iTunes Top R&B/Soul songs in Singapore.Armed with a Berklee World Tour Partial Scholarship, Beth has received accolades including first runner-up in competitions such as I Write and Sing My Song and CineIndieFest. She was also the finalist of the NEA Eco Music Challenge 2014.

A vocalist well-versed in jazz, pop and R&B, Beth was selected via auditions for Esplanade’s “Bright Young Things” programme (now known as Mosaic Jazz Fellows) and, with her band, Afterglow, selected for the National Arts Council’s Noise Singapore “The Music Mentorship” programme.

She is grateful to have performed at Mosaic Music Festival 2013, Timbre Music and Guinness Amplify presents: Singapore Originals – bittymacbeth was the featured artiste of the month in August 2015 – the Esplanade stages and 100+50 bands festival.
